Identifying a range of Plants, Weeds, Pests and Diseases and the Care and Pruning of Plants This session will give you an understanding of how plants are botanically named and will cover the identification of a range of plants, seeds and weeds, plant health, the identification of common pests, diseases, disorders and beneficial animals and insects. The care and pruning of plants will include potting on your plants and providing aftercare and understanding pruning principles including the '3 Ds', formative and maintenance pruning. (RHS level 2)

This set of courses is designed to provide experience of practical skills associated with the RHS level 2 and level 3 qualifications giving concise and up-to-date information. However, you do not need to be studying for an RHS qualification in order to attend, they are also ideal for keen gardeners who wish to develop their horticultural knowledge and practical skills on the subjects covered. The courses will cover important horticultural practices through hands on activities and associated theory. Guidance will be provided to support those candidates who are learning and practising new horticultural skills. The courses involve various practical activities so please come prepared with suitable clothing, footwear and gardening gloves. Includes a light lunch and refreshments.
