Getting started
At this level schools should have:
• Shared a vision for gardening among the staff team
• Established a gardening or environmental club
• Started fundraising for the garden
• Produced a plan and identified a suitable area for the garden
• Started to prepare the site
• Carried out a risk assessment
• Taught gardening skills and safe use of tools to some children
• Designated one or more teachers to co-ordinate gardening activities
• Parents or other members of the community helping out
• Governors who are informed and involved
