Anemone are herbaceous perennials with fibrous, rhizomatous or tuberous rootstocks, palmately lobed leaves and saucer-shaped, usually 5-petalled flowers

'Vestal' is an herbaceous perennial to 20cm, with a slender rhizome and deeply divided leaves. Solitary white flowers have 6-7 normal petals surrounding a button-like centre of narrow staminodes
