Hebe are evergreen shrubs or small trees, with paired, simple leaves and racemes or spikes of small, 4-lobed, tubular to salver-shaped flowers in summer and autumn

'Neil's Choice' is a lax evergreen shrub with purplish stems bearing narrow leaves, the margins and midrib purple, and dense narrow racemes of violet flowers in summer and early autumn
