Exbury Gardens near Southampton is a superb place to see autumn colour - from the dwarf Acer palmatum casting fiery reflections in the Top Pond to the bright displays from the deciduous azaleas and dogwoods.
Explore this unforgettable 80ha (200 acre) woodland garden in the company of Head Gardener, John Anderson. John will show you plants of special interest including Japanese and other maples, sweet gums, tupelo trees and Exbury's National Plant Collections of Nyssa and Oxydendrum. There will also be a special viewing of the garden's collection of Nerine sarniensis.
John will share plenty of practical advice and tips to help you achieve dazzling autumn colour in your own garden - covering how to choose the right plant for the right place, cultural requirements including staking, pruning and mulching, and propagation techniques.
Highlights will include Yard Wood, famed for its autumn colour, Home Wood and the Park, with its birch and cherry collections.
