RHS Harlow Carr will be growing 30 different varieties of sweet pea on a demonstration bed. These will include spencers, old fashion and grandiflora types. The varieties grown will cover nearly all the colour classification from pure white to stripes and bi-colours. Members of the National Sweet Pea Society will be available to advise visitors on the following topics: - The sowing of sweet peas in Autumn & Spring including advise on the types of compost to use - Soil preparation and what type of fertilizers to use - Different growing methods including cordon and layering - A variety of ways to support tall growing sweet peas - Pest and disease control - What varieties to grow and which have the best scent
