Start planning your potato harvest!
The most exciting stage of the Potato Councils Grow Your Own Potatoes project is fast approaching.
With over 16,000 participants nationwide harvesting their potatoes on 21st June, why not make it a day for the children to remember. Plan a potato assembly with poems, songs and stories based around potatoes or ask the children to suggest ingredients for a potato salad. Harvest the potatoes on a big plastic sheet getting as many children as possible involved and watch their faces light up as they unearth their hidden treasure. The potatoes could then be cooked up so that everyone can enjoy the rewards.
Don’t forget to weigh the potatoes and record the weight online for a chance to win some amazing prizes. Even if you only harvest a small weight it is worth entering as you may receive a free gift. Good luck!
