Benchmark Scheme

Whether your school is just starting out and wondering where to begin, or looking to develop an established garden, our benchmark scheme will point you in the right direction. As you achieve each level in the scheme, you will get an award and certificate.

Why use the benchmark scheme?

1.It provides a step by step guide to develop your school garden.
2.It encourages goals to be set and provides the motivation to garden.
3.It helps to make gardening a regular part of school life.
4.Progress will be rewarded with certificates, seeds, tools, vouchers and other gardening goodies (all rewards are subject to availability).

Each level has information and resources attached to support you in growing plants and developing gardening at you school.

How do I benchmark?

1. Firstly, make sure you are registered to the Campaign.
2.Log in using both your username and password.
3.The benchmark scheme box will appear.
4.Start at level 1 answering the questions.
5.On completion of each level download the instructions for how to send us your evidence. Please send to:

6.Print out the certificate to display in your classroom.
7.See what rewards you will receive.

How do I register?

Fill in the details for your school on the registration page and answer the questions on the benchmark scheme. Only one member of staff can fill in the benchmark questions but all the resources are available to the school by using the school user name.
