This course is suitable for schools that are currently at the Campaign for School Gardening’s Level’s 3 and 4.
The expectation would be that attendees on this course have some knowledge themselves of gardening and have established a school garden.
The day will include some of the following topics: how to integrate gardening with your teaching, differentiating areas of the garden (food growing, wildlife and sensory), sustainable gardening practices, incl. composting and gardening for the school year.
Some horticultural skills will also be covered, for example, propagation of plants from seed and taking vegetative cuttings, identification of a range of common garden plants and weeds, enterprise (making money) using the garden.
