Summer sunshine is so far bringing bumper crops of tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes – all the things that have been difficult to grow in the last few wet seasons. However, keep an eye out for plants that are drought stressed as they may need your help. See all of your August gardening jobs and grow your own jobs |
The prolonged hot spell has left many gardens very dry. While there’s no need to water established trees and shrubs, concentrate your efforts on watering new plantings, leafy crops and containers. For more tips see our advice page. |
