Fl. facing upwards; perianth and other petaloid segments in several whorls, yellow 9A, with slight pale mucro; the two outer whorls opposite and more or less overlying one another, ovate, spreading, plane or with margins a little incurved, with midrib showing and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner petaloid whorls successively shorter and more strongly inflexed towards the centre, concave; corona segments half the length of the outer petaloid segments, clustered at centre, orange-yellow 14A, frilled, becoming crumpled towards centre.
