Flower very large, yellow; perianth segments ovate, blunt, a little inflexed, with margins sometimes incurling, overlapping a quarter to one-third; the inner segments somewhat twisted; corona cylindrical, smooth, darker in tone than the perianth, with mouth flared and a little frilled, rim notched and shallowly and unevenly crenate. Resembles a large-flowered `Emperor' of slightly lighter colour
