Fl. star-shaped, vivid yellow; perianth segments oblong or narrowly ovate, acute, with slight white mucro, inflexed at base, spreading above, plane or with margins slightly incurved, separated or only very slightly overlapping; the inner segments slightly narrower; corona as long as the perianth segments, cylindrical, sometimes slightly constricted at mid-point, smooth or lightly ribbed, of thicker substance than the perianth and appearing to be darker in tone, mouth flared and deeply 6-lobed, with the lobes deeply 3-lobed.
