Fl. rounded, 92 mm wide, facing up; perianth segments very broad, deeply truncate, mucronate, brilliant greenish yellow 5A, spreading, plane or somewhat concave, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the inner segments reflexed in upper half; corona deeply split, the 6 segments opposite and closely overlying the perianth segments to two-thirds their length, ribbed, vivid yellow 14A, shading to strong orange 25A at rim, deeply bi-lobed, with the lobes overlapping, frilled, with rim crenate.
