Fl. rounded, 98 mm wide; perianth and other petaloid segments in two whorls, very broadly ovate, blunt, opening greenish yellow (4D), becoming ivory yellow, smooth and of heavy substance, overlapping half; the outer segments of the outer whorl prominently mucronate; the outer whorl spreading; the inner whorl strongly inflexed, with margins deeply incurved; corona segments two-thirds the length of the outer petaloid segments, with the inner petaloid segments interspersed, opening orange-yellow (15B), becoming softer in tone (9C), frilled. Early to mid-season
